The Park is endowed with a diverse of attractions ranging from terrestrial wilderness to permanent Glaciers on the mountain Peaks. The mountain rises through lush rainforest, alpine meadows and barren lunar landscape to the twin summits of the Kibo and Mawenzi. The climbing routs are:-

5 Days Mt. kilimanjaro Marangu Route

Kilimanjaro Marangu Route, 5 days The Marangu Route is probably followed by 90% of all climbers. The trek starts at Marangu gate. Porters will carry all your personal items, equipment and supplies and a cook prepares your meals.
Marangu route has a well defined path, which has been well set out and where most obstacles have been modified to make it friendly.

This is a very scenic route with good views of Mawenzi and excellent prospects for viewing wildlife and to reach the summit.

Day 1 JRO Airport – Moshi Town
Arrival at JRO/Nairobi Airport in the evening, met by Phistin representative, then make a transfer to Moshi Town Hotel for Dinner and Overnight. Briefing about the Kilimanjaro climb by your guide. Kilimanjaro Crane Hotel (BB)

Day 2 Moshi Town – Marangu Gate – Mandara hut
Pick Up from Kilimanjaro Crane Hotel in Moshi Town, do some brief shopping around town before leaving the town to Marangu Gate for the first section of the climb through the mountain forest to Mandara Hut (alt.2750m) taking 3 to 4 hours. Mandara Hut (alt. 2750m)

Day 3 Mandara Hut – Horombo hut
Leaving the forest, you trek along a good path through open grassy moor land to reach Horombo Hut (alt.3700m) taking 5 to 7 hours.

Day 4 Horombo Hut – Kibo hut
Continue ascending past ‘the last water point’ traversing the saddle between Kibo and Mawenzi to Kibo Hut (alt. 4700m) taking 5 to 7 hours.

Day 5 Kibo Hut – Horombo Hut
An early start for the summit on steep and heavy scree up to Gilman’s Point (alt.5681m) on the crater rim to arrive in time for sunrise. Continue on to Uhuru Peak (alt. 5896m), the highest point in Africa. Descend to Horombo Hut for Overnight taking 7 to 8 hours ascent and 4 to 7 hours descent. Horombo Hut (alt.3700m)

Day 6 Horombo Hut – Mweka Gate
Descend the mountain to Mweka Gate, where you will get your certificates, taking 5 to 7 hours to be met by your vehicle which will transport you to Moshi Town. Kilimanjaro Crane Hotel (HB)

Day 7 Moshi Town – JRO/ Nairobi Airport
After short relaxation in your Hotel or short walk around town take a transfer to Kilimanjaro/Nairobi International Airport for your flight. Or proceed with the second part of your Tanzanian/ Kenya holiday.

6 Days Mt. Kilimanjaro, Rongai Route

Kilimanjaro Rongai Route, 6 days. The Rongai Route is one of the easiest ascents to the peak. It has a well defined path, which has been well set out and where most obstacles have been modified to make it friendly. The trek starts north of Marangu gate, near the Kenyan border. Porters will carry all your personal items, equipment and supplies and a cook prepares your meals.Day 3 Camp 1 – Camp 2

For this route, you don’t need any mountain climbing skills, but you must be fit.

Day 1 JRO Airport – Moshi Town

Day 2 Moshi Town – Rongai Gate
On your first day’s walk is a gradual ascent through the rain forest. The main thing is to watch out for is elephants and cats covering portions of the trail. About 7 hrs. Camp 1 (alt.2570)
The morning walk is a steady ascent up to the ‘Second Cave’ (alt.3450m) with superb views of Kibo and the Eastern ice fields on the Crater rim. After lunch, leave the main trail and strike out across the moor land on a smaller path towards the jagged peaks of Mawenzi. The Campsite is in a sheltered valley with giant Seneciois near Kikelewa Cave. About 7 hrs. Camp 2 (alt.3450m)

Day 4 Camp 2 – Mawenzi Tarn Hut
A short but steep climb up grassy slopes in rewarded by superb all round views and a tangible sense of wilderness. Leave the vegetation behind shortly before reach the next camp at Mawenzi Tarn (alt. 4330m), spectacularly situated in a cirque directly beneath the towering spires of Mawenzi. The afternoon will be free to rest or to explore the surrounding area as an aid to acclimatization. Mawenzi Tarn (alt. 4330m)

Day 5 Mawenzi Tarn Hut – Kibo Hut
Cross the lunar desert of the ‘Saddle’ between Mawenzi and Kibo to reach Kibo Hut (alt. 4750m) at the bottom of the Kibo Crater wall. The remainder of the day is spent resting in preparation for the final ascent before a very early night! 5hrs. Kibo Hut (alt. 4750m)

Day 6 Kibo Hut – Uhuru Peak
Begin the final, and by far the steepest and most demanding, part of the climb is by torchlight around 1 a.m. Proceed very slowly in the darkness on a switchback trail through loose scree to reach the crater rim at Gilman’s Point (alt. 5685). Rest there for a short time to enjoy the spectacular sunrise over Mawenzi. Those who are still feeling strong can make three hour round trip to Uhuru Peak (alt. 5896m), passing close to the spectacular glaciers and ice cliffs that still occupy most of the summit area. The descent to Kibo (alt. 4740) is surprisingly fast and, after some refreshment, continues the descent to reach the final Campsite at Horombo. About 11hrs. Horombo Hut (alt.3700m)

Day 7 Horombo Hut – Marangu Gate
After Breakfast, a steady descent takes us down through moor land to Mandara Hut (alt. 2752m), the first stopping place at the Marangu route. Continue descending through lovely lush forest on a good path to the National Park gate at Marangu, where you will get your certificates and where you will meet your vehicle which will transport you to Moshi Town. Day 8 Moshi Town – JRO / Nairobi Airport
After short relaxation in your Hotel or short walk around town take a transfer to Kilimanjaro / Nairobi International Airport for your flight.

7 Days Kilimanjaro Shira Route

Kilimanjaro Shira Route, 7 days Shira route is the more technical and challenging route, the trek starts with a drive in 4WD Vehicle to Londorosi. Porters will carry all your personal items, equipment and supplies and a cook prepares your meals. From this route you climb Mount Kilimanjaro from the west side. This will give you totally different views of the Great Rift Valley and Mt Meru.

Day 1 JRO / Nairobi Airport – Moshi Town
Arrival at JRO/ Nairobi Airport transfer to Moshi Town, to the Hotel for Dinner and Overnight. Briefing about the Kilimanjaro climb by your guide. Kilimanjaro Crane Hotel (BB)

Day 2 Moshi Town – Londorosi Gate
Pick Up from Kilimanjaro Crane Hotel in Moshi Town, do some brief shopping around town before leaving the town to Londorosi Gate. After an introduction and registration process drive further in approximately 2 hours (50Kms) to Simba River where you commence your climb on foot (trekking/hiking) about 3 to 4 hours, with picnic lunch enroute through giant savannah and vegetation before reaching the Simba Campsite (alt. 2500m) for Overnight.

Day 3 Simba Campsite – Shira Campsite
After breakfast, start climbing through giant savannah with flora and fauna with picnic lunch for about 3 to 4 hrs up to the Shira Plateau (alt.3600m).

Day 4 Shira Campsite
After breakfast, the day is spent for an excursion. We walk around the vast Shira Plateau for an acclimatizatDay 7 Arrow Glacier Camp – Mweka Hution walk. A great chance to see the beautiful landscape of Kilimanjaro. If necessary-Picnic lunchboxes are taken enroute returning in the afternoon to the Shira Plateau Campsite for dinner and overnight.

Day 5 Shira Campsite – Lava Tower
After breakfast, we start to climb through the glaciers and moor land for about 4 to 5 hrs, with picnic lunch enroute before arriving at the Lava Tower for dinner and overnight.

Day 6 Lava Tower Campsite – Arrow Glacier Hut
After breakfast, with picnic walk descending towards the Barafu Hut (alt. 4600m), which is reached in 4 to 5 hrs. This are easier accessible route towards the crater Rim Or An ascending climb the Northern Ice-field towards the Arrow Glacier Hut (alt 4900m) which Is reached by climbing steeply for approximate 4 to 5 hours for dinner and overnight.
Very early around 01:00 hours, light breakfast and start climb to the summit (alt.5895m), short rest thereafter descend to Barafu hut for lunch enroute to Mweka Hut (alt. 3000m)

Day 8
Final descent to the Mweka gate and transfers to Moshi Town to your Hotel. Kilimanjaro Crane Hotel (FB)

Day 9 Moshi Town – JRO Airport
After short relaxation in your Hotel or short walk around town take a transfer to Kilimanjaro or Nairobi International Airport for your flight.

8 Days Kilimanjaro Lemosho Route

Kilimanjaro Lemosho Route, 8 days Lemosho route is the technical route for experienced climbers.

For this route, you need some mountain climbing skills and you need to be fit.

Lemosho Route is a very special itinerary designed for those wishing to make the ascent to the summit in the daylight hours. You spend a night in the Kibo crater and trek to the top of the inner Reusch crater. There is a stunning view into the Ash Pit, and this itinerary crosses the Shira Plateau. It takes in the glades on the Lemosho Route as well as the drive to high altitude on the first day which takes us through magnificent scenery with views of the Great Rift Valley, Mt Meru and Longido.

Day 1 JRO Airport – Moshi Town

Day 2 Moshi Town – Machame Gate
Pick Up from Kilimanjaro Crane Hotel in Moshi Town, do some brief shopping around town before leave the town to drive along Boma Ngombe to Sanya Juu and up to Londorosi Gate (alt.2200m). Registration and drive to the road near Lemosho glades and start the trek through the rain forest. Dinner and Overnight at Forest Camp (alt.2400m).

Day 3 Forest Camp – Shira Camp I
Full Day trekking through Shira Caldera and desert plateau, Overnight at Shira Camp (alt.3700 m).

Day 4 Shira Camp I – GM II Camp
Trekking across Shira plateau, for dinner and Overnight at GM II Camp (alt.3700 m).

Day 5 GM II Camp- Barranco Camp
Trekking 6-7 hours through Barranco Valley. Overnight at Barranco Camp(alt.3940m). This day Can also be used for altitude acclimatization.

Day 6 Barranco Camp – Karanga Camp
Climb up to Barranco Wall across Valleys. Dinner and Overnight at Karanga Camp (alt.4270m).

Day 7 Karanga Camp
This day is spent for acclimatization, dinner and Overnight at Karanga Camp (alt.4270m)

Day 8 Karanga Camp – Uhuru Peak
Trek to the Summit, Uhuru Peak (alt. 5895m) with magnificent views. The return (12-15hrs) for dinner and Overnight at GM III Camp (alt.1100m)

Day 9 GM III Camp – Mweka Gate
Walk down across the alpine moor land to Mweka and receive your certificate. Say goodbye to your guide and porters and transfer to Moshi Town to your Hotel. Kilimanjaro Crane Hotel (BB)

Day 10 Moshi Town – JRO Airport
After short relaxation in your Hotel or short walk around town you take a transfer to Kilimanjaro/ Nairobi International Airport for your flight.
